How to use it

  1. Drop the images in.
  2. Pick the format you need out.
  3. Set the quality if you are writing JPG or WEBP. PNG has no quality setting because it is lossless.
  4. Convert and download.

Questions

Which format should I pick?

JPG for photographs going anywhere. PNG when you need a transparent background or perfectly crisp text. WEBP when you control the website and want files roughly 30 percent smaller than JPG at the same quality.

Will converting to PNG improve a JPG?

No. The quality already lost in the JPG is gone, and PNG will simply store the same image in a much larger file. Convert to PNG for transparency, not for quality.

Does transparency survive?

Going to PNG or WEBP, yes. Going to JPG, no, because JPG has no transparency at all. Transparent areas are filled with white.
